    Coming Electric car

electric-car-motor-is-comingOn Thursday,  Franz von Holzhausen,  Tesla Motors’s chief designer,  introduced a new car that hopefully could be considered as the new family mid-sized  sedan  in the coming future. He made the presentation on behalf of Tesla, which is a young company in the car industry.

“Welcome to Model S”, Holzhausen said while smiling widely. Then, with a theatrical flourish, he pulled the covers off a pair of prototypes of a sedan that only uses electricity. According to Tesla Motors, the car has a capacity for seven people and is able to travel 300 miles on a single charge.

Tesla hopes to begin the production of these flashy cars with five doors by the final quarter of 2011. The specific location where the production center will be placed was not revealed but it is known that it is situated in Southern California.

The company projects a production of 20,000 units per year with deliveries starting in 2012.
