Just five days after the launch of the iPad, Apple will introduce developers to the newest version of its iPhone OS, version 4.0.

Apple’s iPhone 4 0 OS to be revealed Thursday

The iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone all run on the iPhone OS, and version 4.0 is expected to introduce the ability to multitask, and run multiple third-party apps at the same time.

The move to introduce a new OS not even a week after the iPad product launch is Apple’s way of saying, “We’ve been busy, and Android ain’t got nothin’ on us”. April 8 we’ll see that multitasking announcement we’ve been waiting on for so long.
