BlackBerry Storm 2 with “perfect” SurePress tipped for 2H 2010

Having shaken things up nicely with a few tablet rumors, RIM are now prompting speculation regarding their plans for smaller touchscreen devices.  According to Tested’s unnamed source, the company are preparing their third-generation Storm smartphone for release in Q3 or Q4 2010, complete with BlackBerry OS 6 and a refreshed SurePress touchscreen system described as “perfect”.  That will, apparently, be followed by a Storm 4 in 2011.

The BlackBerry Storm 3 is said to be focused on multimedia together with gaming.  In fact, RIM are tipped to be working with EA on a mobile version of The Sims which would be pre-installed on the smartphone.

As for the BlackBerry Storm 4, that’s rumored to have a focus on augmented reality with an accelerometer, magnetometer and updated GPS, along with a 5-megapixel digital camera.  The source supposedly asked that the codename for the handset remain secret, but it’s based on the internal name that Tested are speculating about AR.
