Google requests Google TV partners to delay launch

—Google TV is Google’s WebTV service , a formula of television and the Web in an all-in-one experiece.  Now, very close to the initially scheduled launch, Google wants more time to refine the software, which has not been well received by reviewers or early adopters.

Google is delaying launch of Google TV because they are not happy with their current software functionality

Sony and Logitech both have products out to market already, but Toshiba, LG and Sharp were all set to show off new Google TV products at the Consumer Electronics Show next month. Google has apparently asked the companies to hold off so it can refine the software.  Whether or not the companies agree to hold-off their Google TV offerings is anyone’s guess.  Changing plans at this point would be major for the partners.  CES starts January 6th.
