    Babolat Serves Roland-Garros with Passion

Two Historic French Brands Play Doubles on Clay with the

New Official Roland-Garros Range Created by Babolat

Boulder, CO — March 2, 2011 — Since 1875, racquet sport specialist Babolat has been inventing, innovating and designing new products—sources of improved performance stemming from a true passion for tennis and service to players. Starting in 2011, Babolat’s tennis passion and technological know-how will serve the French Open.

As part of the Babolat and Roland-Garros collaboration—effective since January 2, 2011—Babolat has developed the official Roland-Garros range of tennis equipment. Discover the new collection of tennis racquets, bags and accessories in the colors of this Grand Slam. Equipment provider of 2010 French Open winners Rafael Nadal and Francesca Schiavone, Babolat has created a line of creative, high-performance and top-of-the-line products for tennis lovers that reflects the image of the two historic French brands.

The “Ultimate Tennis Experience”: to each his own Roland-Garros and Babolat experience

Baseline hitters looking for power and control will be attracted to the Aeropro Drive French Open and matching bag in the Roland-Garros line. The racquet of Rafael Nadal and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga needs no introduction: a collection of exclusive Babolat technologies* offers more power and precision thanks to the unique aerodynamic design of this best-selling Babolat model.

The Roland-Garros bag, perfect for carrying and protecting the Aeropro Drive of the new range, will be used on the Tour. The bag is particularly well adapted to the practice of tennis with many features such as the isotherm racquet compartment, which protects the quality of the string tension. An innovative look with new materials, the design perfectly matches the Aeropro Drive French Open racquet. This bag is available in two sizes: one accommodates 12 racquets, the other six racquets.

If you’re looking for a light racquet with good maneuverability, the E Sense Comp French Open is made for you. Comprised of 100% graphite, this technical racquet gives you the confidence to know you’ll always get a good dose of power with optimal performance.

For carrying your racquets, Babolat has developed a Roland-Garros Club Bag and Club Backpack. Suitable for all players, the bag features more durable materials (PVC-free) and a new design.

Juniors benefit from a dedicated line of Roland-Garros products. Because a future champion trains at a young age, Babolat is launching the Aeropro Drive Junior French Open: Rafael Nadal’s racquet for junior competitors. The Junior French Open line is ideal for recreational or young competitors from four to 13 years of age. Budding champions will be attracted by its similarity to the Aeropro Drive French Open and by the bags in the Club range for carrying their racquet.

As the inventor and leader of strings, Babolat showcases its technical skills with XCEL French Open strings. Available in black for the same look as Rafa, the elasticity of the polyamide fibers offers more comfort and improved tension hold. Babolat developed a fiber assembly process that guarantees a perfect adhesion between the fibers and the matrix resulting in a longer life for your strings.

The new Roland-Garros line by Babolat also consists of Syntec Grip with a firm tacky feel and the VS Grip French Open, preferred by expert players and Team Babolat, provides a precise feel. Finally, discover two dampeners in the Babolat and Roland-Garros colors: customizable and fun! The Custom Damp is customizable to the degree of vibration dampening desired, with or without the dampening insert. The Loony Damp French Open allows you to pair your dampener with your mood of the day: one has the French Open logo, the other a smiley face in the same color. You choose!

Babolat will also furnish the French Open All Court ball, ideal for all surfaces and all types of players.

(*GT Technology, an exclusive Graphite Tungsten technology, reduces torque at impact for more powerful and precise shots. The Cortex System technology, located between the frame and the handle, filters unnecessary vibrations to enhance the feel of the ball.)
