    gogo In-Flight Internet “FlyBuy Wednesday”

A high-flying, 30,000 feet twist on the usual Black Friday/Cyber Monday news is just in.

Gogo, the leading provider of in-flight WiFi connectivity in the US, will launch the holiday shopping season into the stratosphere with the grand opening of its first in air, online holiday shopping store on November 23, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving — they’re calling it “FlyBuy Wednesday” and giving holiday travelers a chance to fly above the crowds during the holiday shopping season.Passengers traveling onboard the more than 1,200 Gogo-equipped aircraft this holiday season will have 30 minutes of free access to the Gogo Fly & Buy Holiday Store with special in-flight discounts and offers from more than a dozen top online retailers. Gogo’s in-air Fly & Buy Holiday Store will be available from FlyBuy Wednesday, November 23, 2011 through the New Year to let people get their holiday shopping done from 30,000 feet, so they can use their time on the ground to celebrate the season with friends and family instead of shopping.

The Gogo Fly & Buy Holiday Store will feature special in-flight only holiday discounts and offers from retailers including Barnes & Noble, BestBuy.comFTD.com, Harry & David,hayneedle.com, JCPenney, Lobster Gram, Macy’s, Omaha Steaks, Wine.com and more (retailers and offers may vary based on airline).

To help spread the word, Gogo has created a killer new TV commercial featuring an animated version of its eccentric spokesperson, Trav Lehrman.  It’s Gogo’s take on the classic animated holiday specials.  There’s one spot specific to FlyBuy Wednesday and a general animated spot for the ongoing Fly & Buy Holiday Store access.Using Gogo’s exclusive network and services, passengers with laptops and other Wi-Fi enabled devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) can get online on all domestic AirTran Airways, Virgin America and Alaska Airlines flights, on all domestic mainline Delta flights and on select Air Canada, American Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways flights. Every 18 seconds, a Gogo-equipped flight takes to the skies.
