The Verizon Smart Locator Easily Keeps Track of All Your Belongings

If you’re the type of person that’s constantly losing things, then the Verizon Smart Locator might be just for you. Verizon is now selling the Verizon Smart Locator, a flat, egg-shaped device reminiscent of an AirPods case that you can easily attach to any frequently misplaced items via its clip mount or keyring attachment. The Verizon Smart Locator will work anywhere where Verizon’s network is live.

Verizon Communications Inc. is an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate and a corporate component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The company is based at 1095 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, but is incorporated in Delaware.

    The Verizon Smart Locator

The Verizon Smart Locator allows you to stay in the know about the things that matter for you. You can easily secure it to your bike, backpack, handbag or any other valuable possessions. This means that you won’t have to worry about leaving your luggage behind anymore. The Verizon Smart Locator provides location tracking regardless of how close you are to your phone and comes with 12 months of complimentary service. You’ll be able to unleash its full potential with Verizon, America’s most awarded network.

    SPECS

The Verizon Smart Locator measures 1.98 inches long by 1.38 inches wide by 0.56 inches tall when standing on top of any flat surface. It’s extremely small, meaning it’s lightweight and super convenient to use. The device features a waterproof and dust-resistant design, proving that the Verizon Smart Locator was built with the real world in mind.

The Verizon Smart Locator comes with a pre-installed SIM Card (4FF), and also comes equipped with a 256 MB Memory, a MODEM/Baseband Processor (Qualcomm MDM9206), and a built-in Li-Ion 400mAH (non-removable). The Smart Locator can offer up to five days (or 120 hours) of battery life, but that number will depend on how often you ping it.

    WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

Within the box, users will find: one Verizon Smart Locator, a USB Cable (to recharge the device), and its included Clip Accessory and Keyring Accessory.

    FEATURES

    Pinpoint Location Tracking

The Verizon Smart Locator uses a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi-based positioning (WPS) and network coverage (LTE-M tracking technology) for pinpoint accuracy when connected to the Verizon Network. Unlike many other popular smart trackers, it performs reliably regardless of how close it is to your smartphone. This allows its users to stay in the know with cellular-connected location tracking, working great for both indoor and outdoor use. The device is even capable of helping you pinpoint exactly which part of the couch your wallet fell into.

The device will work anywhere Verizon’s network is live. Still, it’s important to note that you shouldn’t expect service internationally or when roaming kicks in; however, Bluetooth might take over at that point. Users can expect that the Verizon Smart Locator will have a larger range than most of the currently available Bluetooth monitors.

    Effortlessly Compatible

Setting up your Smart Locator is easy. All you have to do is download the Verizon Smart Locator Hub app and sync it with your connected device to get started. The best part is that you don’t even need to be a current Verizon customer to use it (as said before, the device comes with 12 months of complimentary service). You can still experience the ultimate combination of speed and reliability on Verizon’s network on a special prepaid plan.

    Enhanced Battery Life

As stated before, Verizon’s brand-new Smart Locator will offer up to 5 days of battery life before having to be recharged. Users can get a maximum of 5 days of battery life by adjusting the pinging intervals or turning on Inactive Mode. You can easily recharge the device with its included USB charging cable, and recharging it back to full battery should only take a couple of hours.

Manage It All by using the Smart Locator Hub App

The device features a geofencing option that lets you detect when protected objects enter or leave a certain area, ranging all the way from dogs to bikes. Setting a personalized geo-fencing zone will allow you to get notified if your dog ever leaves the yard. You’ll also be able to check up on your bike with on-demand location pinging. You’ll even be able to set up to 10 trusted contacts who can find and recover your smart locator, even when you’re not around. The Smart Locator Hub gives you remote control from your tablet or smartphone and is available for both Android and iOS.

    FINAL THOUGHTS

The Verizon Smart Locator is designed to last. You can pair it with the Smart Locator App and keep tabs on your valuables from afar. Its geofencing option lets you detect when protected objects enter or leave a certain area, and adding trusted contacts will improve your chances of recovering your Smart Locator, even when you’re not around.

    The Verizon Smart Locator

The Verizon Smart Locator is available in one single model: Cool Grey. If you’re interested in getting one, each unit is currently going for $100 and comes with 12 months of complimentary service following the activation of the device; after that monthly subscriptions will cost you $3 per month.
