Jabra Evolve2 65 USB-A MS Stereo UC Wireless Headphones

The working world is changing at a fast pace, and while advancements are being made across all sectors, productivity isn’t really improving at the necessary pace to keep up with those changes. Since the beginning of the year, remote working has been on the rise, and that’s mainly because of the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, which caused a major negative impact across all types of businesses. While many companies got their workers working remotely from their homes, some people still find that distractions are growing in their new “workplace”. Things like having your significant other and/or your kids spending more time at home – the same place that you now call your “office” or “workplace” – due to the pandemic’s complication can be quite distracting. While all that makes the world of remote working a fairly convoluted space, renowned audio equipment Danish company Jabra has come up with a new range of headsets that were specially designed to deliver productivity, improve your digital working experience and enhance your concentration. Meet the Jabra Evolve2 65.

The Jabra Evolve2 65 are USB-A MS Stereo UC-Certified Wireless Bluetooth Headphones that are great for both work calls while you’re working at home as well as for listening to music, featuring up to 37 hours of battery life and Passive Noise Cancellation.

    WHAT ARE UC HEADSETS?

Many remote workers have now been looking for a pair of high-quality USB headsets that can be used between both a work laptop and a home PC. Nevertheless, it’s important to note that headsets that are designed for remote working can come in one of two different flavors. Those are MS, which is “optimized for MS Skype for Business”, and UC (or “Universal Communication”), which are headsets that are designed for pretty much anything else.

UC (or “Universal Communication”) headsets are optimized for use with softphones, meaning that this type of headsets offer its users a plug-and-play setup so that you can start using them straight out of the box. Many models also include advanced features like remote calling or the ability to connect to multiple devices at once.

Now, back to the Jabra Evolve2 65. Engineered to keep you agile, the Jabra Evolve2 65 UC Wireless Headphones can be used to work anywhere, as they’re powered by an advanced digital chipset. Not only that, but this newly released pair of UC-Certified Wireless Headphones is guaranteed to always deliver a superior wireless audio performance.

Featuring an outstanding call quality and all-day comfort in a noise-isolating design, with an headset like this, you can experience first-hand the new standard of UC Wireless Headsets for a remote work environment.

Now, let’s have a more detailed look at these UC Wireless Headphones and check everything that the Jabra Evolve2 65 have to offer.

    DESIGN & SPECS

Starting with the headsets’ design, the Jabra Evolve2 65 feature a very ergonomic design that’s mainly focused on a user’s comfort. The headphones come equipped with a unique headband shape that optimizes weight distribution for every head shape. The headphones measure exactly 8.5 inches long by 7.42 inches wide by 2.2 inches tall when resting on a flat surface, and they’re also quite lightweight, weighing just a measly 6.22 oz (176.4 g).

Not only that, but the Jabra Evolve2 65 Headphones also come equipped with ultra-soft Leatherette and memory foam ear cushions that are made with ultra-durable premium materials. Thanks to that, the headphones’ soft on-ear memory foam ear cushions can easily mold to a user’s ears’ natural contours to ensure that you always get an incredible all-day comfort.

Furthermore, these soft memory foam ear cushions come mounted on self-adjusting earcup swivels, which also feature an innovative angled design that ultimately allows the headphones to cancel up to 48% more noise when compared to the previous models (the Original Evolve – meaning the Evolve 1).

Lastly, around the headphones’ earcups, users can also find a new and improved LED Busy Light that’s four times more visible than previously released Jabra Headset models, which allow both your family members (when at home) or other co-workers (when working from the office) to easily notice it and understand that you’re busy, which ultimately helps you to stay away from any interruptions whatsoever.

    AUDIO QUALITY & AUDIO SPECS

Moving on to the headphones’ audio quality. These high-quality and ultra-reliable business headphones also come equipped with powerful built-in leak-tolerate 40mm sound speakers that are capable of delivering a rich high definition audio that’s great for both work calls as well as music listening.

These 40mm sound speakers feature a maximum Speaker Sensitivity level of 117dB @1mW-1kHz, a maximum Input Power of 30mW, and a Speaker Frequency Range that goes between 100Hz-8.000Hz (when using them on Speak Mode for Voice Calls) or 20Hz-20.000Hz (when using them on Music Mode for Music Listening).

In my opinion, the headphones’ sound quality is flawless, and that goes for both the headset’s enhanced sound technology as well as for its  Active Noise Cancellation feature. Even when using the headphones to listen to music, the treble (highs) is perfectly noticeable, the mids (mid-range sounds) are always present and perfectly captured, and the bass (lows) is as accurate as you’d hope it would be.

It’s also worth to mention that the Evolve2 65 Headphones also come equipped with a total of three (x3) Digital MEMS microphones, of which two are located in the boom-arm and one in the right ear cup.

As such, these business headphones also offer its users an enhanced 3-microphone call technology that ensures up to 23% less background conversation noise during all of your work calls.

These three (x3) microphones only support the SBC Audio Codec and feature a maximum Microphone Sensitivity of -26 dBFS/Pa and a Microphone Frequency Range that goes between 100Hz-8.000Hz.

    INTERFACE / QUICK-TOUCH CONTROLS

Now, moving on to the headphones’ interface, the Jabra Evolve2 65 feature very simple and very intuitive Quick-Touch Controls.

At the front-side of the headphones’ right side earcup we can find a single Answer Call Button.

Then, right at the back of that same right earcup, we can find a set of three buttons located at the top of the earcup, which, from top to bottom, go as follows: there’s a Volume Increase Button, a Play and Pause Button (for Music), and a Volume Decrease Button.

Lastly, at the bottom of the headphones’ right earcup, users will also find a Switch Button that can be used to power the Headphones On (as well as to activate their Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity) and to also power them Off.

It’s also worth to mention that by simply sliding the headphones’ Microphone Boom Arm upwards and away from your mouth, you can easily activate the headphones’ Mute Function and completely mute the headphones’ microphone.

    CONNECTIVITY

Since the Evolve2 65 Headphones also support to the Jabra Link 380 USB Bluetooth Adapter, users can choose to have their headphones’ Jabra’s BT adapter (dongle) to come in either a USB-C or a USB-A Bluetooth adapter version.

Thanks to that, users can easily connect their Jabra Evolve2 65 Headphones to a computer, as well as to their Mobile device, or ultimately, to use them with any Softphone program.

Since the headphones work via Bluetooth 5.0, these support multiple Bluetooth Connectivity Profiles, including HSP v1.2 , HFP v1.7, A2DP v1.3, AVRCP v1.6, PBAP v1.1, SPP v1.2.

When using these headphones with their Bluetooth Wireless Connectivity, users can have the Jabra Evolve2 65 simultaneously connected to a maximum of two (x2) different devices. The headphones should offer a maximum connectivity range that can go up to 100ft (30 m).

    BATTERY & BATTERY LIFE

The headset’s battery is three times better than the battery from the previous Evolve 65 model (the original Evolve 65), featuring a Power Consumption of 5V/500mA. As such, these headphones come equipped with a powerful Lithium-Ion battery that can offer up to 37 hours of battery life on a single charge.

That ultimately means that you can use the headphones for up to 37 hours of Music listening time or up to 35 hours of Talk time while having the headphones’ LED Busy Light Off. Alternatively, you’ll get around 24 hours of Talk time while having the headphones’ LED Busy Light turned On.

Once the headphones’ battery is fully depleted, re-charging the headphone’s battery back to a full charge should only take you around 90 minutes after you place the Jabra Evolve2 65 Headphones on their proprietary Charging Stand (which comes included in your package).

However, it’s also worth to note that a 15-minute charge will offer you up to 8 hours of use.

THE TWO PROPRIETARY APPs FOR PC AND SMARTPHONE

The Evolve2 65 Headphones are also compatible with a total of two different proprietary Apps, which are called the Jabra Direct (for PC use) and the Jabra Sound+ (for Smartphone use).

    Jabra Direct (For PC)

The Jabra Direct PC App makes sure that your headset always has the latest firmware, guaranteeing you’ll have the most up-to-date features, bug fixes and easy access to compatibility updates. The App features a user-friendly Direct Dashboard that makes using it a very intuitive experience.
