POLAR SEAL GEMM – Wearable Cooling & Heating Device

We all know that every now and then, the weather can be a little unpredictable, and sometimes, there are even some days where the weather gets quite unstable. Whether you find yourself dealing with a “bone-freezing” winter day or a boiling hot summer day, neither of those two situations are really enjoyable, as in reality, both can be equally uncortable. Nevertheless, there’s a handy wearable device out there that can be used as your own personal pocket-sized temperature-regulating wearable gadget. Meet the POLAR SEAL GEMM.

The POLAR SEAL GEMM is a compact, portable and ultra-versatile wearable cooling and heating device that utilizes a unique thermoelectric technology to bring you an instant cooling or heating feeling at the touch of a button.

By wearing this innovative wearable gadget, you can easily stay at a constant temperature at all times, and that’s all thanks to the GEMM’s cooling and heating functionalities, which can cool you down or warm you up within mere seconds. To put it simply, wearing the POLAR SEAL GEMM ultimately allows you to stay at a comfortable body temperature and feel well throughout the whole day.

Now, for those curious about knowing exactly how the GEMM works, I invite you join us on our detailed review of this wearable cooling and heating device, where we check out how this wearable gizmo is built, understand exactly how it works, and see everything that it has to offer you.

    DESIGN

Starting with the POLAR SEAL GEMM’s size, this wearable cooling and heating device is extremely compact and fairly lightweight, as it features an ultra-portable design.

Basically, this wearable cooling and heating device is composed by a 3-piece modular temperature-changing system that can be collapsed into three (x3) separate pocket-sized components, which can easily be all snapped back together whenever you’re looking to wear the GEMM.

In other words, the GEMM combines a small Control Module (which also houses the system’s built-in rechargeable battery) that’s worn at the front side of your chest with a Cooling / Heating Neck Module that’s meant to be worn wrapped right around of the back of your neck, and both Modules are connected to each other by Connector Cables that are equipped with with Gold Plated Magnetic Tips.

That said, the GEMM’s little Control Module measures just 1.93 inches long by 0.78 inches wide (thickness) by 2.36 inches tall (4.9 x 2 x 6 cm).

At the same time, the GEMM’s Neck Module is also fairly compact, measuring just 3.74 inches long by 1.10 inches wide (thickness) by 1.57 inches tall (9.5 x 2.8 x 4 cm).

    HOW DOES IT WORK?

As mentioned before, the POLAR SEAL GEMM is a wearable cooling and heating device that utilizes a unique thermoelectric technology to bring you instant cooling or heating feeling at the touch of a button.

To be a little bit more specific, the GEMM’s modular temperature-changing system is powered by gold plated magnetic connectors, which is exactly what allows this wearable temperature-regulating gadget to draw power from its Control Module (where its built-in rechargeable battery is located) and then take that power directly to the system’s Neck Module, which is the system’s component that’s responsible for bringing you an instant cooling or heating feeling at the touch of a button.

Then, inside the GEMM’s Neck Module, we also have a set of state-of-the-art Semiconductors with different electron densities that compose the system’s Thermoelectric Unit and Cooling / Heating Dissipation Plate.

The way these state-of-the-art Semiconductors allow the GEMM to quickly become cool or hot is by applying a low voltage to the two free ends of the system’s Neck Module’s gold plated magnetic connectors, which draw a flow of electricity across the junction of these Semiconductors to then cause a temperature difference, with one side becoming hot and the other becoming cold.

INTERFACE / CONTROLS & TEMPERATURE SPECS

For the GEMM’s Control Module, users are offered a very simple set of controls. Right at the center of the GEMM’s Control Module, we have a ON/OFF Power Button, and around it, we have a circular Power-On Indicator-Light that makes it easy for users to see whether or not they have the device turned On/Off.

With a simple and gentle touch, users can quickly and very easily Power On their GEMM.

Nevertheless, for those that prefer a more discrete wearing experience, there’s a Stealth Mode Switch at the right side of the unit that turns off the Control Module’s Power-On Indicator-Light.

Then, at the left side of the unit, we also have a Cooling / Heating Temperature Switch, which basically allows users to swap between the GEMM’s Cooling and Heating Modes. Users can also swap between three (x3) different Cooling or Heating Power Levels to adjust the GEMM’s cooling and heating functionalities.

Overall, the POLAR SEAL GEMM can offer you a Cooling Temperature as low as 50ºF (10ºC) and a maximum Heating Temperature that can go up to 108ºF (42ºC). (Keep in mind that these cooling values are specifically for when using the GEMM at an ambient temperature of 86ºF / 32ºC).

Lastly, at the top of the unit, we also have 3 Power Level LED Indicators that inform you about the GEMM’s currently selected Cooling / Heating Power Levels, and integrated just at the right side of those LED indicators, we also have a Battery Level LED Indicator, which keeps users informed about the Control Module’s current / remaining battery power.

    BATTERY & BATTERY LIFE

As said earlier, the GEMM’s Control Module is what houses its built-in 1,700mAh 3.7V rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, which can get you up to 7.5 hours of battery life (when using the GEMM’s temperature-changing system on Low Power Mode).

Recharging the unit is fairly easy, as all you have to do is to connect the GEMM’s included USB-C Charging Cable to its Control Module’s USB-C Charging port.

    FINAL THOUGHTS
