Live Dealer Games Are The New Game Shows

Jeopardy, The Price Is Right, Deal Or No Deal, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire – I’m sure many of these sound familiar to many of you. The first game show, Truth or Consequences, first aired in 1941 (and became a regular feature in 1950), and the genre has remained insanely popular ever since. But the medium is changing. An ever-increasing number of people are moving away from broadcast or cable television, cutting the cords, and choosing to stream content from the internet instead. Will the game show survive this change of medium? It might – and we have online casinos to thank for this.

    Live Dealer Games

The idea of live dealer casino games emerged in the mid-1990s, at a time when technology was not ready to turn it into reality. A decade later, in turn, the first live roulette game emerged – and it changed the casino landscape forever. Today, every gaming outlet from the big brands in the US to crypto gaming outlets like the Crypto Thrills Online Casino feature at least a handful of them.

Live Dealer GamesLive dealer casino games are, basically, just like the ones you can play in a real-life, brick-and-mortar casino – but they also have the convenience and accessibility of an RNG-based online casino.

Dealers sit in front of felt-covered tables in studios around the world, spinning the roulette wheel or dealing the cards. The players connect to these tables remotely, from their PC or smartphone, and play the game just like they would in a real-life casino.

There are a wide variety of live dealer games available, covering every casino staple – roulette, blackjack, baccarat, sic bo, and many others.

    Interactive Game Shows

The “revolution” comes from Evolution Gaming, the company responsible for some of the first live dealer games. A few years ago, the company decided to expand its coverage of gaming content, adding game shows to the mix.

The game shows available on the Evolution platform range from simple games like Live Football Studio, a very basic card comparing game, to various versions of Wheel of Fortune, Lighting Dice (a dice throwing game with random multipliers), and even an interactive version of Deal or No Deal, a famous game show that runs 24/7 online.

Interactive Game Shows are The Future

Video streaming has become mainstream because, aside from the lack of annoying ad breaks, it gives the viewer complete control over what they watch.

The next step is interaction. This has been done in a limited fashion through the phone-in games we are all familiar with.

The proliferation of the internet, in turn, makes it possible for players to interact with these game shows in a more meaningful fashion, not restrained by location or even the time of the day. And we have live dealer casino games to thank for it.
