Sun Mountain Breaks Ultra-Light Barrier with 3 1/2 LBS Golf Bag Line

In 2001 Sun Mountain broke the ultra light barrier with the 3-½ pound, full-featured Superlight 3.5 golf bag. Sun Mountain continues to perfect and expand the Superlight line to include four models for 2010: the Superlight 3.5 in men’s and women’s styles; the 2009 Golf Digest Hot List Gold Winner, Superlight SLX; and the College-logoed version.

Each of the models weighs in under four pounds and includes Sun Mountain’s patented built-in top handle, standard water bottle pouch, full-length club dividers, and seven pockets. The most significant difference is the X-Strap® Dual Strap System on the SLX and College-logoed versions and the E-Z Fit® Dual Strap System on the 3.5. All three models are in stores now with full suggested retail of $179 for the Superlight 3.5, $199 for the Superlight SLX, and $239 for the College-logoed.

Technical advancements on the Superlight line include: patented top with TPR handle that provides a convenient spot to grab when picking the bag up and removing the bag from the shoulder, top mounted stand attachment for increased durability and stability, patented Roller Bottom and recessed Y-Spring activator for faster leg action and tight-to-the-bag retraction, triangular non-slip foot pads that resist sinking into grass and sliding on slick surfaces, and a full complement of pockets to include full-length clothing pocket, velour-lined valuable pouch, water bottle pouch, and ball and accessory pockets.
