Samsung Galaxy Beam Announced with Pico Projector

Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy Beam smartphone. The device is a little unique in that it has a built in pico projector allowing up to a 50 inch nHD screen to be projected on to any surface.

The device will be launching with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, not Ice Cream Sandwich, although Samsung has promised that an update to Android 4.0 will follow shortly after launch. Other technical specs show that it has a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels. On the back it has a 5 megapixel camera while on the front it has a 1.3 megapixel camera which will allow for video calls to happen. 8GB of storage is included on the device.

We expect to hear more about this over the next few weeks with more information on battery life etc… when used with the pico projector.  Anyway you slice it though, it looks like a fantastic smartphone with a very promising market…ala buisness folks and tenured presenters.
