    Andover SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable – High-Grade Plug-and-Play Turntable

As any true audiophile would most likely know, Vinyl records sound way better than MP3s ever could. That’s simply because most music is broadcasted in some lossy format, which basically means that it most likely involves some level of dissipation of electrical/electromagnetic energy. In fact, nowadays, more recent sound formats tend to have quite a few sound details largely missed, which ultimately causes their overall audio quality to be worst than the one offered by vinyl records. That’s due to the fact that the audio files recorded in those lower-quality sound formats need to get compressed to make them small enough so that standard music-listeners are able to store thousands of them on their Smartphones, as well as to stream them online. Now, while vinyl records clearly stand-out from any other audio formats available, you still need to have a reliable high-quality turntable in order to listen to them. So, if you’re looking for a “Lazy Susan” / rotating tray of your own, then consider going with the Andover SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable.

The Andover SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable is a high-grade plug-and-play turntable that can be used right out of the box, featuring a quick and easy set up and offering you uncompromising sound quality for your vinyls.

WIth it, music lovers of all backgrounds can have a super simplified turntable setup that ultimately allows them to enjoy top-notch sound from their Vinyl records while getting the best Hi-Fi sound experience ever, thus making this turntable model perfect for both large and small listening spaces.

On a side note, I’d also like to mention that for any audophile that’s looking to get the ultimate Hi-Fi sound experience for their music, the SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable can also be combined with Andover’s very own SpinBase Turntable Speaker System (this accessory unit is available at $299 on Andover’s shopping page), which can be neatly set up right under the SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable.

Basically, the company’s SpinBase Turntable Speaker System is designed as a compact high-end all-in-one powered speaker system that’s fairly easy to operate thanks to its simple connectivity, and ultimately, this awesome speaker system can have its four speaker drivers bringing you a wide 270º room-filling Hi-Fi sound.

Nevertheless, you should also know that the SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable can also be used with many other audio systems, so if you already have one at home, you’re good to go.

Now, without further ado, let’s have a more detailed look at the SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable and check out its design as well as see everything that this high-grade plug-and-play turntable has to offer you.

    DESIGN & SPECS

Starting with the turntable’s design, the SpinDeck comes at a reasonably compact size, measuring just 16.5 inches long by 12.75 inches wide by 4.5 inches tall (while having its dust cover on it). Not only that, but this high-grade plug-and-play turntable features a simple and sleek design, which ultimately give it a very minimalist, yet aesthetically pleasing look that goes really well with pretty much any choice of home décor that you currently have.

Integrated right below the turntable itself, we also have special built-in turntable feet for Effective Decoupling.

Now, as soon as you get it out of the box, the first thing you’ll notice is that integrated at the top of the turntable we have an Acrylic Protection Lid that keeps all of the turntable’s components nicely protected from your typical household dust, and for an even better dust-protection, we also have an included high-quality Dust Cover that can be used to cover up the turntable when it’s not being used.

Moving on to the turntable’s components. The SpinDeck’s main chassis is made from engineered particle board, which ultimately ensures that the turntable has a sturdy, yet fairly lightweight construction throughout its whole body.

Right at the center of the turntable, we also have a 11.81-inch (300 mm) Low-Resonance MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) Platter that comes equipped with a Felt Mat of superior quality. The turntable’s main platter bearing consist of a stainless-steel spindle and a bronze bushing with a Teflon bottom, which ultimately helps to ensure you get a long-lasting playback out of the unit.

Since this is a belt-drive turntable, it obviously works based on a Belt-Drive Principle, coming equipped with a high-quality Silicone Belt.

The turntable’s Silicone Belt can have its speed manually adjusted between 33 rpm to 45 rpm, with the turntable’s belt-drive system featuring a Speed Variance that can go between 0.8% (at 33 rpm) and 0.7% (at 45 rpm) and a Wow & Flutter of 0.29% (at 33 rpm) all the way up to 0.27% (at 45 rpm).

Additionally, this high-end plug-and-play belt-drive turntable also comes equipped with a Pre-Set 8.6-inch (218.5 mm) Aluminum Tonearm with Sapphire Bearings and a 0.86-inches (22.0 mm) Overhang. The turntable’s tonearm features an effective tonearm mass of exactly 8g and a tracking force range that goes between 0 mN to 25 mN.

The turntable’s Pre-Set 8.6-inch Aluminum Tonearm also integrates a Pre-Set Counterweight that can be set between 3g to 5.5g, which already comes set and ready to go.

Not only that, but the SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable also features a Pre-Mounted Ortofon OM5 (Custom OM Series) Cartridge (18mN pre-adjusted) that features a Conical Stylus that provides a balanced and distortion-free playback, allowing you to step up the turntable for a better sound experience by simply upgrading the stylus. I’d also like to note that the stylli for the OM 5 Series can be easily interchanged, including: Styli 3E, 5E, 10, 20, 30, 40 & 78 and D 25 M.

Since both of these components (Pre-Set Tonearm with Counterweight and Pre-Mounted Ortofon Cartridge) already come pre-adjusted straight out of the box, no further set-up is required, and that’s exactly what ultimately allows the SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable to offers users of all backgrounds a super simplified turntable setup.

Moveover, this high-end plug-and-play turntable also includes Pre-Mounted Gold-Plated RCA Interconnect Cables.

Lastly, it’s also worth to point out that the SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable is electric powered, coming together with its own AC Power Supply and featuring a Power Consumption of 4.5 Watts (maximum).

That said, housed right beneath the turntable’s chassis, we also have a whisper-quiet Low-Vibration AC-Powered Synchronous Motor that’s responsible for turning the turntable’s silicone belt in order to rotate the system’s low-resonance platter made from MDF, all while also helping to minimize any unwanted vibrations.

Installed right at the left side of the turntable, we also have its built-in On/Off Power Switch.

    WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

Inside each package, users will find: their SpinDeck Belt-Drive Turntable, the turntable’s high-quality Silicone Belt, as well as its included Dust cover along with its included Power supply, and lately, the unit’s User Manual.
