    The $99 Copia Ocean Reader eReader

    Copia is announcing a 5″ tablet selling for a measly $99. It’s called the Ocean Reader, and although they’re marketing it as an e-reader, its 5″ LCD screen suggests it’s more of a tablet with probably some popular OS (Android) running in the background.

    Incidentally, there was actually news of a device like this at CES (press release below), but this is totally different from the hardware shown in January. There’s little information other than the name and screen size, but a social aspect is mentioned. This would make sense, since Copia started out as an online social network.   More news to come on this device when available.

    Pricing and Availability

    TheCopia.com will begin its private, limited-invitation beta in Jan. 2010. The public beta will launch in March 2010.
