    Como Audio Musica Review

If you still love to listen to your old CDs, you’re not alone. Audio player products manufacturer Como Audio has recently released the Como Audio Musica, its new smart music system. The Como Audio Musica is a one-box CD/streaming solution, a premium all-in-one CD-player/streamer/radio, for those who love to stream, but for those who also have still held on to their vast CD collection.

Design-wise, the Como Audio Musica’s exterior is fairly boxy, and it has rubber preset and control buttons, as well as three small aluminum dials, and it’s available in four different models: Walnut Wood, Hickory Wood, Piano White, and Piano Black.

The Como Audio Musica measures 5.62 inches (14.3 cm) wide by 15.94 inches (40.5 cm) long and 6.49 inches (16.5 cm) tall, weighing 9.28 pounds (4.21 kg). In the center of the device, users can find a 3.2” full color display that beautifully displays album artwork, channel information, Internet and DAB station logos, among other things. Users can listen to audio from their TV by using the optical input, as well as connect analog audio equipment using the two auxiliary inputs. You can also use the Ethernet input instead of Wi-Fi. To control the device, you can use the included remote control or the free Como Control app, available for both iOS and Android.

The Como Audio Musica offers a ton of features. It has a single CD slot-loading mechanism that’s “built to rigorous automobile industry standards”. The smart music system is able to play any CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs. On top of that, there’s a USB input for music playback from a USB flash drive or any other mass storage devices compatible with AAC+, MP3, WMA, WAV FLAC and ALAC formats. It can also charge your smartphone. Finally, there’s also a 3.5mm analogue input.

The Como Audio Musica is also able to play non-physical media via Wi-Fi or stream it wirelessly via Bluetooth with AAC and Qualcomm’s aptX. It features built-in streaming apps like Spotify Connect and Tidal, as well as FM and DAB/DAB+ radio stations, and Internet Radio, letting users explore around 30,000 Internet radio stations from around the globe. By integrating Amazon’s Alexa, users can also control the Musica, as well as access their Amazon Prime Music collection, just by using their voice.

The Musica features a Class D digital amplifier, capable of 30 Watts per channel RMS, It’s also equipped with a pair of 0.74 inches soft dome tweeters for extended high end response, as well as two 3.14 inches long-throw and a four-layer voice coil woofers with over-sized magnet that produces exceptional bass. The audio response can ultimately be tailored via the Musica’s customisable EQ.

Performance is really good. The balance is decent, with a rich midrange. The Musica makes good use of its dimensions to play relatively deep bass frequencies. It’s able to play full-bodied mids while offering a favorable level of detail to vocals, giving sonic insight to both tone and timbre.

The Como Audio Musica offers a lot of features, but it’s pricey at $600. You can purchase it here.
