Townew Smart Trash Can – Automatically Ties and Replaces garbage bags

Life is messy, busy and it can get really dirty, really fast. Sometimes, you don’t even have the time or energy to deal with everything, especially when it comes to taking out the trash. This brings us to the Townew Smart Trash Can, a brand-new smart gadget that automatically ties full garbage bags for you and pulls out brand-new empty ones into place.

“We can’t change the fact that life is messy but what we can do is make it just a bit simpler, a tad easier and a little less messy.”

The Townew is a convenient Smart Trash Can that brings a smart automated garbage experience right into your home. With a touch of a button the Townew Smart Trash Can will self-seal the bag that it’s currently holding. Then all you have to do is grab the tied garbage bag and take it outside.

The Smart Trash Can was first announced in China (in 2018) on the Xiaomi and JD platforms, and now, just one year after its original release, it went through a successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, allowing the company to release the Townew in both North America and Europe.

Let’s take a detailed look at it and see what it’s all about.

    DESIGN AND SPECS

The Townew Smart Trash Can only holds around 15.5 liters (4 gallons) of trash, which is actually a small number according to American kitchen standards. This smart trash can features a touchless design, meaning it was built with hygiene in mind.

The trash comes equipped with infrared sensors that can detect movement at a range of approximately 14 inches (35 cm), which means it will automatically open its lid with just a wave of your hand.

The Townew also comes equipped with a Removable Refill Ring that contains enough recyclable material to create 25 trash bags that are 100-percent recyclable. Each Removable Refill Ring will last approximately one month. These can be bought in bulk (more on that at the end of the article).

Townew’s bags are automatically pulled from its Refill Ring and cut and sealed using thermoplastic technology. Whenever the Townew is full, all you have to do is press its single button – located at the top of the front side, right under the lid’s edge – which will trigger the Townew to automatically seal its currently full bag, guaranteeing that there’s absolutely no spillage.

The Townew will then open up its top assembly to allow users to remove the sealed bag, and will then close itself to pull a new bag into place.

Keep in mind that even if the lid doesn’t close due to overload, the trash can will automatically lift the top and seal the bag for removal.

    BATTERY AND BATTERY LIFE

The Townew comes equipped with a rechargeable 2000mAh battery that when fully charged will offer up to one entire month of battery life – around the same time that each Removable Refill Ring lasts.

Fully charging the battery after completely depleted takes you around 10 hours.

    HOW DOES IT WORK?

The TOWNEW does most the work for you. All you have to do is hold the touch button, wait for the TOWNEW to seal its bag for you, and then just grab the trash bag once the sealing is complete.

Once you’ve removed the sealed bag, the lid will close and automatically pull a new trash bag in place. Yes, it’s that easy! No leaks, no stink, no mess.
