Razor EcoSmart SUP Electric Scooter (FULL REVIEW)

Back in the day, people had tons of fun riding their kick scooters around the street. While many of us recall these human-powered two-wheeled (and sometimes three-wheeled) devices with nostalgia, technology advancements ensured that the millennial generation saw these fun “rideable” devices having a huge comeback. As such, these simple, yet ultra-fun transportation devices were completely reinvented as electric stand-up scooters, and now, they’re supposed to be primarily used for urban travel / daily commuting. Because of that, electric scooters are now a commonly utilized transportation device in many cities around the world, but more specifically, in those where the law has been prompt to regulate their usage. That was exactly what allowed citizens to quickly embrace them. This brings us to the Razor EcoSmart SUP Electric Scooter.

The Razor EcoSmart SUP is a super stylish stand-up electric scooter that’s both safe and stable to ride, but still fast and powerful enough to be used for your daily commute. While it’s ultra-quiet high torque 350-watt motor allows riders to reach up to a maximum speed of 15.5 mph, the scooter’s ultra-large air-filled 16″ tires ensure that you always have a smooth and safe ride, even on uneven terrain.

It’s also worth to mention that the EcoSmart SUP Electric Scooter’s design is mainly based on Razor’s bestselling adult electric seated scooter, the EcoSmart Metro Scooter, but instead of releasing a second-generation of its most famous electric seated scooter, the company decided to release this second model as a stand-up electric scooter.

Now, let’s have a more detailed look at this stand-up electric scooter and check everything that the Razor EcoSmart SUP has to offer its users.

    DESIGN & SPECS

Starting with the scooter’s dimensions, the entire unit measures exactly 57.28 inches long by 20.67 inches wide by 45.28 inches tall (145.5 x 52.5 x 115) and weighs exactly 62.72 lbs (28.51 kg). Assembling the unit is a very easy and smooth process, as only some of the scooter’s parts need to be mounted / attached together.

Now, in terms of riding the scooter, as this is a stand-up electric scooter, it comes equipped with a high-quality and ultra-durable wide bamboo deck that offers each rider plenty of foot room to make riding the Razor EcoSmart SUP both a comfortable and stylish experience.

This stand-up electric scooter is meant to be used by teenagers (of 16 years+) and adults, and not children. It’s also important to point out that the scooter’s wide bamboo deck can support riders with a maximum weight of 220 lbs (100 kg).

Moreover, as this stand-up electric scooter is built with an ultra-durable tubular steel frame, the scooter itself is and also feels extremely sturdy, even when riding it on uneven terrains. Thanks to that, you’re ensured to have both sturdiness and stability at all times so that you can always have solid rides.

Not only that, but thanks to the scooter’s previously mentioned ultra-large air-filled 16″ (406 mm) tires – which are basically standard bicycle size 16” pneumatic tube tires – riders are ensured to always have a smooth and safe ride, even when riding the scooter on uneven ground.

Additionally, the scooter’s rear-wheel drive can accurately shift a rider’s weight to the rear side of the scooter, which helps to enhance both traction and ease of steering during your rides.

    ENGINE, BATTERY & BATTERY LIFE

Right before the scooter’s rear-wheel, sitting perfectly protected under the scooter’s wide bamboo deck, you’ll also find its previously mentioned ultra-quiet high torque 350-watt motor, which is powerful enough to allow riders to reach up to a maximum speed of 15.5 mph (25 km/h).

The scooter’s engine is powered by a powerful and rechargeable 36V sealed lead-acid battery (composed by a set of three 12V batteries). On a full-charge, the scooter’s battery can offer riders up to 60 minutes of continuous use, and that can be translated to a Maximum Travel Distance of around 12 miles (19 km). That’s perfect to cover short distances to travel within your city during your daily commute between home and work. Then, simply recharge the scooter’s battery at work to travel back home at the end of the day.

Lastly, the scooter’s battery can be easily recharged by connecting its battery’s dedicated Charging Port to its included Battery Charger. Recharging the scooter’s battery from 0% to 100% should only take you a couple of hours, so you’ll most likely want to do that overnight.

    ADJUSTABLE CONTROLS & RETRACTABLE KICKSTAND

At the top of the electric scooter’s handlebar, users will also find ultra-soft rubber grips that are quite comfortable to grasp, and that makes controlling the scooter a very nice and comfortable experience overall.

The scooter’s right-side control grip is a rubber twist-grip hand throttle that comes equipped with a built-in digital panel, which then displays the scooter’s speed, power and battery-life status. Additionally, its left side control is a rubber grip equipped with a highly responsive hard-plastic hand brake.

This simple combination makes controlling the scooter’s direction and speed a very easy process.

Lastly, at the left side of the scooter’s wide bamboo deck, there’s also a built-in retractable kickstand that can be used to easily have the scooter parked safely and sitting perfectly still whenever you’re looking to take a break from riding it.

The scooter’s built-in retractable kickstand perfectly rotates between 0º~95º degrees, and when fully retracted, it stays nicely protected under the left side of its wide bamboo deck.
