Google Voice Now On iPhone & WebOS via HTML5 Webapp

Google Voice is finally available on the iPhone, although it is not available as an iPhone App, as Apple or AT&T continue to block a Google Voice iPhone App.

Google has released a web-based application, which is usable on any HTML5 capable smartphone.  This means you can use it on your iPhone, and also good news for Palm Pre and Pixi owners, as it will work on WebOS as well.

The web application works in a similar way to Google voice on your PC.  Essentially, you have the ability to make calls, send text messages, listen to voice mails, edit your settings and access your contacts… all from within your smartphone’s browser.

The web app sync’s with you Google accounts contact list, so you will have to sync your contacts from your iPhone or Palm device to your Google account first. This is accomplished very easily with WebOS using Synergy.  iPhone setup is not too terribly difficult either. (www.google.com/voice)
