Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Lightweight Phase Change Cooling Vest with Ice Packs

For any industrial and/or public workers that spend most of their day working under extremely high heat conditions, it’s very important to have some sort of cooling solution that helps them to stay safe. By having something like the Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Cooling Vest, those same workers can spend less time worrying about concerning issues that are directly associated with working in high-heat environments like fast dehydration, heat exhaustion, or even experiencing a heatstroke, and then spend more time actually focusing on their work with no concerns on their mind.

This way, they’ll have both a safer time at work while also allowing both themselves and their family/friends to get some extra piece of mind.

The Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Vest is basically a lightweight cooling vest (from Ergodyne’s Phase Change Series of cooling equipment) that’s equipped with high-quality, reliable, and quick-to-freeze Ice Packs.

This cooling vest works great as a safety and cooling solution for anyone that works in the Pulp/Paper or Construction industry, with Iron/Steel Fabrication, on Hazmat environments, with Vulcanizing machines as well as on Refineries and /or Foundries.

Not only that, but this cooling vest is also perfect for public workers that are part of Fire/Rescue/EMT teams or any Utility Companies (organizations that maintain the infrastructures for public services) as all of those workers have to face the same common problem on a daily basis.

Since most of the previously mentioned jobs (manufacturing iron/steel products, working for the Fire Department, etc.) all involve working under extremely high heat conditions at some point, it’s extremely important for these workers to always wear cooling/safety gear that helps them to avoid dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat strokes, and that’s where the Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Cooling Vest truly shines.

Let’s have a more detailed look at this lightweight cooling vest and check everything that it has to offer.

    DESIGN & SPECS

As mentioned before, the Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Vest is a lightweight cooling vest, and as such, it only weighs 4 lbs. (1.8kg) on a user’s body while already equipped with its ice packs.

    The cooling vest is available in two different size models: S/M (32in – 40in / 81cm – 102cm) and L/XL (40in – 52in / 102cm – 132cm).

Users can wear it in both humid and dry climates, indoors or outdoors, and over or under their clothing items.

This lightweight cooling vest was designed to be 30% to 60% lighter in weight than any other cooling vests available on the market, and as such, not only does it keeps workers cooler and safer while working under extreme high-heat conditions, but also lets them be much more productive.

The Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Cooling Vest is mostly made of a polyester cotton-blend fabric that ultimately gives it some extra durability while also making it ultra-comfortable to wear.

This cooling vest also comes equipped with a highly durable adjustable hook and loop closures around its waist to provide any users with a customized and flexible fit, which ultimately ensures that any body types can wear the vest.

Additionally, the vest also comes equipped with a heavy-duty front zipper that makes it easy to put the vest on/take it off, as well as two front zippered pockets that can be used to store a Smartphone or any other small accessories.

Furthermore, the vest was also designed with utility in mind, featuring an ingenious Grid Design that completely matches its ice packs. As such, its ice pack’s Grid Design completely eliminates any stiffness around a user’s torso.

The vest also features an environmentally friendly design, as its ice/cooling packs contain a 100% biodegradable phase change cooling material that can maintain very low temperatures after activated.

This special cooling material allows the cooling packs to maintain a constant cool temperature of 59° F (15° C) for up to 2 hours in any weather conditions, and that way, the cooling vest ultimately provide users with an immediate and long-lasting cooling relief.

This special substance contained within the ice packs can be chilled faster than most other materials available on the market.

Not only that, but after those 2 hours have passed, the vest’s ice packs can also be quickly “re-actived” (re-cooled) in as little as 5 minutes, and that’s once again thanks to that same 100% biodegradable phase change cooling material contained within them.

    HOW TO USE

While there are many ways to activate this cooling vest, using the Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Cooling Vest is super simple.

All you have to do is place the vest’s four removable ice packs inside either a cooler of ice water for 5 minutes; a freezer for a total of 8 minutes; a refrigerator for just 12 minutes; or ultimately, just near an air conditioner for at least 1 hour.

After that, just get your recharged ice packs back and place them inside the vest’s pockets for up to 2 hours of consistent and reliable cooling.

    MAINTENANCE – HOW TO CLEAN?

Maintaining/cleaning the Ergodyne Chill-Its 6260 Cooling Vest is also very easy.

The vest’s cooling packs should never be machined washed and/or machine dried. Instead, these ice packs should always be washed by hand while using a mild detergent and warm water.

After hand washing the ice packs, just dry them with a paper towel or cloth.

The fabric vest itself is machine washable (after removing the ice packs, of course), but also remember that just like its ice packs, you should only use mild soap.

To dry the vest after machine washing it, simply hang it outside and let mother nature do the rest.
