Now, let’s have a more detailed look at the SOUNDBOKS 4 and check out everything that this high-end portable Bluetooth performance speaker has to offer you.
DESIGN & SPECS
Starting with the speakers’ size, the SOUNDBOKS 4 comes at a noticeably large size, measuring exactly 17 inches long by 13 inches wide by 25.6 inches tall (43 x 32 x 66 cm), while also packing some weight, as the speaker weighs 35.5 lbs. (16.1 kg).
Despite its somewhat bulky size, the speaker is still reasonably easy to transport around, as it comes equipped with two (x2) built-in carrying handles made of steel (each one integrated at each side of the speaker’s body) that make it easy for you to transport the speaker around.
The SOUNDBOKS 4 Speaker also sports a very modern and stylish shockproof flight-case design, which gives it a really cool and discreet look.
Moreover, the speaker also packs an ultra-durable construction, as this portable Bluetooth performance speaker is really built to take a beating and withstand even the toughest environments.
All corners of the speaker come equipped with silicone ball corners that give it a super-stable base, no matter if you set it up vertically or horizontally.
In addition, the speaker also comes equipped with a removable dent-proof powder-coated steel grill that can be customized to your taste, whether you decide to spray it in a different color or with cool funky patterns, or even if you simply want to decorate it with a couple of stickers.
Note that the speaker’s steel grill has been slightly redesigned from the previous model (the SOUNDBOKS 3) to be easier to pop-off and snap back on by using the included grill removal tool. This makes it easier for you to access the different components from its powerful sound system whenever you require to clean off any accumulated dust or liquids from them.
Lastly, its electronics components are also coated with a water-resistance layer that’s qualified to have a IP65 Water-Resistance rating, so you can also take it to pool parties or even to the beach without having to worry about getting its internal components damaged.
AUDIO SPECS & AUDIO QUALITY
Moving on to the speaker’s audio specifications. For reproducing its incredibly immersive sound, the SOUNDBOKS 4 comes equipped with a powerful sound system that’s composed by three custom speaker drivers, which more specifically consist of a set of two (x2) 10″ 1W woofers and one (x1) 1″ 1W compression driver tweeter.
The SOUNDBOKS 4’s custom speaker units are individually powered by three (x3) 72W RMS Infineon MERUS Audio eximo class D amplifiers (one amplifier for each custom speaker driver), and are also powered by adaptive DSP tecnhology plus a proprietary next-generation bass enhancer.
All that makes the SOUNDBOKS 4 capable of reproducing an incredibly immersive sound at 126 dB, for which its sound quality has been completely revamped from the audio quality that its predecessor (the SOUNDBOKS 3) was capable of delivering. In comparison to the previous model, the SOUNDBOKS 4 can now deliver crisper highs (high-frequency sounds), better mids (mid-frequency sounds), and a more powerful bass (low-frequency sounds).
The speaker’s two 10″ 1W woofers are rated to have a Sound Sensitivity of 96 dB (at a distance of 3.28 ft. / 1 m), while its 1″ 1W compression driver tweeter is rated to have a a Sound Sensitivity of 104 dB (at a 3.28 ft. / 1 m distance).
The speaker’s entire sound system is rated to have a Frequency Response that varies between 40 Hz to 20 kHz.
What’s more is that the speaker also features a Pulse Reflex port, which essentially consists of a hole straight through the middle of the speaker’s body that works as two additional woofers which further improves the side acoustics that surround its two subwoofers and its tweeter sound drivers.
INTERFACE / CONTROL PANEL
We’ll now have a closer look at the speakers’ interface, meaning its control panel and its connection panel.
Integrated at the top-right of the speaker, we have a built-in control panel equipped with button controls that features a very simple and straightforward interface.
Going from left to right, we have the speaker’s dedicated Power button, followed by a volume control knob with LED indicators that indicate the speaker’s current sound level (ranging from 0 to 11), a Bluetooth LED indicator below its volume know (informs the user about the current status of the speaker’s Bluetooth connection), and then y a TeamUP button with LED indicators that signal the speaker’s current Bluetooth Mode, which can be either Solo Mode (paired with a Bluetooth-enabled device to stream audio), Host Mode (paired with additional SOUNDBOKS speakers and set to work as the main unit), and Join Mode (paired with a host SOUNDBOKS speaker as its secondary unit).
The speaker’s Pro Panel boasts a 3.5mm stereo input port, a 3.5mm stereo output port, and two (x2) balanced 1/4” XLR input ports that can be used for connecting XLR microphones to the speaker, which is great for professional artists.
Integrated between its 3.5mm stereo input and output ports, there’s also a Bond Button that’s used for configuring advanced settings for the speakers Bluetooth Mode.
For establishing a wireless connection with any Bluetooth-enabled device and also with its mobile App, the SOUNDBOKS 4 utilizes Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Best of all, the speaker also features support to Bluetooth Pairing via a TeamUp Mode function (powered by SKAA wireless audio technology) that lets you wirelessly connect up to 5 SKAA-enabled SOUNDBOKS speakers together, allowing to more accurately cover larger parties and events with an even more powerful sound.

The speaker’s battery pack also integrates a built-in 5-step LED battery indicator, and also boasts safety functionalities, including short circuit protection and overheat protection.
Whenever the speaker’s removable battery pack is running low on power, simply connect it to its dedicated charger and to a standard power socket, and leave it charging. Know that it takes approximately 3.5 hours for the speaker’s battery pack to recharge from 0% power back to 100% power.
