Microsoft Bing to Become Default Search on iPhone OS

Rumor has it that Microsoft’s Bing search engine will be the new default search tool for Apple’s iPhone OS. The original story said that Bing would replace Google as the default nextmonth when Apple launches iPhone OS 4.0, but the updates said that it won’t happen next month due to the complicated integration involved in switching over. It isn’t clear if this means there are delays to iPhone using Bing, or if it’s not happening at all.

Microsoft Bing to Become Default Search on iPhone OS

A few months ago, a rumor circulated that Google would pay Apple somewhere in the region of $100 Million a year to be the default search on iPhone, although other rumors suggest that Google isn’t paying anything like that.

It will be an interesting announcement about the new Apple iPhone 4G, whereGoogle and Bing fall into the mix, and whether Steve Jobs will provide the iPhone OS 4.0 release date. When we have the final build of OS 4.0, many rumors will be put to rest.
