You can watch videos and browse pictures. You can download and read novels and self-help books, and much more. It’s a great time to be a technology enthusiast.

What future tech releases are you looking forward to? Here are the 5 of this fall’s most anticipated tech gadgets.

    1. iPhone 5

Anytime Apple decides to release one of its phones, it’s always a big deal. The horde of Apple fans will ensure this is one of the most successful phones yet. The iPhone 5 will feature a larger display capable of displaying a fifth row of apps on the home screen. And this edition of the iPhone will be the lightest and thinnest yet. It’s also reportedly going to be faster and have a better performing camera among other improvements.

    2. Windows 8

Windows’ all-new touch-enabled operating system features a stunning redesign and a complete reconceptualization of what we’re used to from Windows. The home screen features an intuitive and visually pleasing dashboard interface that puts the Internet, music, videos and shopping at the user’s fingertips. When the software is introduced, current Windows 7 users can also upgrade at a special price.

    3. Microsoft Surface

Microsoft’s long awaited and highly-anticipated tablet will be the first company-designed PC. Early adopters will get a device with the Windows RT operating system, while those who wait until January will get the all new Windows 8 operating system. The Surface will feature a camera, a built in stand, and a cover that, when opened, reveals a low-profile keyboard on the opposite side.

    4. iPad mini

A scaled down version of the original iPad, this version will feature a seven-inch screen. The device will still feature the retina display and is expected to rival similarly sized tablets like the Amazon Kindle Fire and Google’s Nexus 7 tablet.

    5. Amazon Kindle Fire HD

The new redesign for the popular Kindle Fire is rumored to have an option for a larger screen similar to that of the original iPad. It also features a camera, a higher screen resolution and an aspect ratio that makes it capable of playing HD movies without black bars. The design is also supposed to be thinner and lighter.
